First results of the Xenoscope TPC published
Xenoscope, one of the existing prototypes for the next generation of dark matter detectors, has already produced its first results.

After installing a 2.6 m time projection chamber (TPC), a commissioning run was conducted to test the complete system. The reults of the run have been published in Journal of Instrumentation
All the implementations done in the system, such as elements to control the xenon level, high voltage, or the photodetector array, worked perfectly. Following these initial results, the system is now ready for further science runs. In the near future, the signals produced by electrons traveling vertically 2.6 m inside the TPC will be studied.
Let's hope the next run also gives us very good news.
