  • LEGEND Collaboration Meeting at LNGS

    The first week of November our group met the other members of the LEGEND Collaboration at LNGS, Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy, the same facility hosting LEGEND-200 and future house of LEGEND-1000.

  • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship for Dr. Ricardo Peres

    We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ricardo Peres has been awarded a prestigious and highly competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship.

  • XENONnT workshop at UZH

    We hosted the yearly XENONnT workshop on high energy electronic recoil analysis channels. Our group is highly involved in the coordination and in several analyses, working on double weak decays of Xe124, Xe136 and Xe134.

  • First QROCODILE paper published in Physical Review Letters

    The first results from the QROCODILE (Quantum Resolution-Optimized Cryogenic Observatory for Dark matter Incident at Low Energy) experiment are published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 135, 081002.

  • XENONnT reaches world-record low in radon background

    The XENONnT collaboration has achieved a breakthrough in reducing radon-related background in their dark matter research, achieving levels comparable to solar neutrino activity.

  • 27.06.2025: LEGEND Pulse Shape Simulation Workshop at UZH

    We are pleased to report the successful organization of the Pulse Shape Simulation Workshop hosted by our group at the University of Zurich.

  • LEGEND Talk at WIN 2025 and Award at the International School of Subnuclear Physics

    We congratulate our group member Sofia Calgaro for presenting at WIN 2025 and receiving the Giulio Racah diploma at the International School of Subnuclear Physics.

  • XENONnT Modeling and Inference Paper Published in Physical Review D

    We are pleased to announce the publication of the paper XENONnT WIMP search: signal and background modeling and statistical inference in Physical Review D (link to publication).

  • First results of the Xenoscope TPC published

    Xenoscope, one of the existing prototypes for the next generation of dark matter detectors, has already produced its first results.

  • Best "Astroparticles and Cosmology" talk prize awarded to Giovanna Saleh at IFAE 2025

    We congratulate our group member Giovanna Saleh for winning the prize for the best talk in the Astroparticles and Cosmology track at the IFAE 2025 conference.

  • LEGEND Collaboration Meeting in L'Aquila

    The first LEGEND Collaboration Meeting of the year 2025 was held in L'Aquila, Italy, in March. It was a precious opportunity for our group to present our work to the Collaboration, share important feedback and contribute to significant discussions for the future of the experiment.

  • Presentations at UCLA Dark Matter and Moriond conference

    Three of our young researchers have presented the latest results from the XENONnT experiment at the well recognized Moriond conference on electroweak interactions in La Thuile (Italy) as well as at the UCLA Dark Matter conference hosted by the University of California in Los Angeles.

  • Assistant Professorship for Pin-Jung Chiu at National Taiwan University

    We congratulate Dr. Pin-Jung Chiu, a former bachelor student and later postdoctoral fellow in our group, who started her new position as an Assistant Professor at National Taiwan University in February 2025.

  • Helmholtz Investigator Group grant for Yanina Biondi

    Dr. Yanina Biondi, a former PhD student in our group, has been awarded a prestigious Helmholtz Investigator Group grant. This grant allows internationally outstanding postdocs to establish their own research group in a Helmholtz Association research centre. 

  • XENONnT publication selected for the Physical Review Letters collection of 2024

    The Physical Review Letters journal has made a selection of the most relevant articles published in 2024. The work of the XENON collaboration "First Indication of Solar 8B Neutrinos via Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering with XENONnT" is one of the selected articles.
