PHY575 Quantum matter: In-and-out of Equilibrium

Lecturer:

Prof.  Marc Janoschek

Prof. Johan Chang,

Prof. Rina Tazai,

Prof. Elsa Abreu

Lectures: 26-30 January, 10h00-14h00
Exercise Class: TBA
Start: Monday, 26.01.2026
Location: Irchel Campus: Y36 J33

This course provides an introduction to quantum matter phases such as superconductivity, topological and electronic nematic phases, as well as Non-Fermi-liquid and spin liquid states. In the 2026 version of the course, there will be an focus on equilibrium and non-equilibrium quantum matter states. Theory and experimental work will be balanced with emphasis on experimental spectroscopies. The level is adapted such that the course will be useful for both master and PhD students.

Further Information can be found in the course catalogue.
