Abstract

The study of amplitudes and cross sections in the soft and collinear limits allows for an understanding of their behavior at all orders in the coupling constant, and the identification of universal structures.
The Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is a powerful framework for studying factorization of amplitudes and cross sections in QCD. While factorization at leading power has been studied extensively, much less is known beyond leading power.
In this talk I will present an overview of the recent developments in understanding perturbative power corrections for collider physics observables.
After presenting a set of applications for subleading power calculations, I will show how to compute power corrections in perturbation theory, what are the necessary ingredients for factorization at subleading power, and present new features of regularization, renormalization and resummation that appear beyond leading power.
