Top-Quark Pair Threshold Dynamics at the LHC

Recent measurements by ATLAS and CMS have observed an excess in the ttbar production cross section near the production threshold, potentially signaling the formation of a ttbar bound state. This result has sparked renewed theoretical interest in describing and simulating threshold ttbar production at colliders. After briefly reviewing the experimental status, I will discuss some of the current theoretical approaches, focusing on open issues and outstanding challenges.
