• When handling cryogenic liquids, ensure good ventilation of the room (open door)

• Liquid Nitrogen: get instructed on how to fill and transport Cryogenic containers

• Never use the elevator together with a full cryogenic container (see instructions)

• Liquid Helium: get an introduction (Stefan Siegrist), never work alone when filling liquid helium

• Use safety equipment (gloves, goggles), use fumehood

• Disposal of chemicals: ask Stefan Siegrist

• secure gas cylinders

• close valve after use

• label empty or defective bottles

• Use dosimeter

• Safe storage

• Return the sources if they are not needed

• High Voltage: when in doubt call the electronics-workshop

• Contact Matthias Hengsberger if you do or plan to use laser sources of laser class 3 or 4, or in case of doubt.

• Access control and warning signs/lights, safety curtains and goggles, safe optical setups, minimum number of people in the lab; name a lab responsible

• Attend laser safety courses is possible
