  • Use safety equipment (gloves, goggles), use fumehood

  • Disposal of chemicals: ask Stefan Siegrist

  • secure gas cylinders

  • close valve after use

  • label empty or defective bottles

  • In case of damage to UZH infrastructure, call Service-Center (Tel. 175), in all other cases contact electronics workshop

  • High Voltage: when in doubt call the electronics-workshop

Laser (Matthias Hengsberger)

  • Contact Matthias Hengsberger if you do or plan to use laser sources of laser class 3 or 4, or in case of doubt.

  • Access control and warning signs/lights, safety curtains and goggles, safe optical setups, minimum number of people in the lab; name a lab responsible

  • Attend laser safety courses is possible

TechNest - Mechanical Workshop (Reto Maier)

  • Contact Reto before you use the TechNest the first time
  • Do not work alone in the TechNest outside working hours

  • Do not use food containers/dishes/cutlery or hygiene items/brushes for lab purposes
