Areas of Responsibility for Safety and Security at UZH

When handling cryogenic liquids, ensure good ventilation of the room (open door)

Liquid Nitrogen: get instructed on how to fill and transport Cryogenic containers

Never use the elevator with a full cryogenic container

Liquid Helium: get an introduction (Stefan Siegrist), never work alone when filling liquid helium

Use safety equipment (gloves, goggles), use fumehood

Disposal of chemicals: ask Stefan Siegrist

close valve after use

label empty or defective bottles

Access control and warning signs/lights, safety curtains and goggles, safe optical setups, minimum number of people in the lab; name a lab responsible
