Congratulations to Alison Mitchell

Alison Mitchell was awarded the HESS prize for numerous contributions to the H.E.S.S. experiment, on both technical and scientific aspects.

Alison was responsible for calibrating the data using muons, adapting the calibration to the second phase of the experiment (H.E.S.S. II), and improving the accuracy and stability of the analysis. Alison was also the driving force behind the new day shift crew, which works with the on-site team to monitor H.E.S.S. data and identify problems. Additionally, she made major contributions to the study of pulsar wind nebulae, including HESS J1825-137 and Geminga.
