Research at UZH: Particle Physics

Our particle physics groups study the fundamental building blocks of matter and how they interact with each other. Our experimental groups are currently involved in two experiments, CMS and LHCb, at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. They are developing novel detector technologies and actively participating in the development of the next generation of experiments.
Meanwhile, the theoretical physics groups are working on quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and electroweak precision calculations, flavour physics, and new theories beyond the Standard Model.
