The SHiP experiment is a new fixed target experiment at the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) of CERN in Geneva. The aim of the experiment is to search for very weakly interacting long living particles, in particular for Sterile Neutrinos with a mass below 5 GeV. We have been among the initiators of this experiment, contributing to the design, optimization, background and sensitivity studies. We hosted in the physics institute of the University of Zurich the First SHiP Workshop, where the collaboration was initially formed and the SHiP Physics Programme was discussed.
