Title: SUSY searches with opposite sign same flavor leptons Speaker: Pablo Martinez, ETH Abstract: Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have not found any significant indication of Beyond the Standard Model Physics (BSM) after the Run I operation between the years 2010 and 2012 . This seminar shows the details of a BSM search in events with two leptons, jets and missing transverse energy. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.4 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 8 TeV, collected by the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in 2012. The analysis focuses on searches for a kinematic edge in the invariant mass distribution of the opposite-sign same-flavor lepton pair and for final states with an on-shell Z boson. The observations are consistent with expectations from standard model processes. One of the signal regions shows a deviation of 2.6 sigma with respect the SM prediction that has attracted the attention of the theory community. Very recently the ATLAS collaboration has also released its results on this signature. These results are also briefly discussed in the seminar.
